Turning the Page: A Season of Stories, Old and New

There is a unique feeling in the air in the last week of March.

It is a time of quiet anticipation. The light has changed, the first brave blossoms are appearing, and there is a sense that the world is holding its breath, ready for the full arrival of spring. Here at the studio, we have been feeling that same sense of gentle renewal, not just in the world outside, but in the stories we have been uncovering.

A Whisper from the Past

We recently acquired a small collection of very old books, their pages soft with age. Tucked inside the cover of one, a beautiful copy of poems from 1888, was a handwritten inscription. A name, and a place: Ayrshire, Scotland. We couldn’t resist. We spent a whole afternoon falling down a wonderful rabbit hole, tracing the owner’s life through public records, imagining a world of candlelight and horse-drawn carts. It was a powerful reminder that these objects we cherish have lived entire lives before they reach us.

That book was not just a collection of poems; it was a tangible link to a person, a place, and a time long past. It is these whispers from the past that are the true soul of vintage.

The Promise of What’s to Come

This feeling of uncovering stories is what is driving us as we look towards April. And with that, we have some very exciting news to share.

Next month, we will be introducing a small, curated collection of rare figurines. Keep an eye out for some sought-after Nao pieces, known for their delicate, heartfelt charm, alongside some fascinating and characterful USSR-time figurines, which are miniature sculptures of a completely different, but equally compelling, history.

The World Collectors Net illustrates the art of collecting Post-war Soviet porcelain.

And our biggest announcement, one we have been dreaming about for months, is that we are finally introducing Vintage Clothing to Bonita Eloise.

It feels like the most natural next step in our journey. Just like a vintage vase or a piece of jewellery, a vintage garment holds a story in its very stitches. We are starting with a small, considered edit of revived pieces and timeless garments that we have personally fallen in love with.

A New Chapter

From an 1880s inscription to a 1970s dress, the common thread is always the story. It is the joy of being a custodian of these beautiful things, carrying their history forward while adding a new chapter of our own. We are so excited to share this new season of stories with you.

The page is turning, and the best is yet to come.
